Thomas King Lecture Series: Lecture 1 "You'll Never Believe What Happened is Always a Good Place to Start" - Viewed Dec 3/ 20

Lecture 1: "You'll Never Believe What Happened is Always a Good Place to Start"

As a class, we will be listening to this lecture and consider the following questions throughout our unit of study and work towards our goal of completing a Literature Critique on King's ideas and views surrounding class, gender, race, and cultural perspectives and experiences:

  • How can Canadians and their communities with varying and divergent beliefs act ethically, co-operatively, and respectfully?
  • How can the individual or collective beliefs of Canadians influence Canada’s actions?
  • Do Canadian citizens share collective principles that define them as Canadians?
  • How do Canadian facilitate understanding of one another’s beliefs?

Step 1: Listen to the lecture

Step 2: Take notes or jot down questions on information or ideas that King presents

Step 3: Keep in your binder- you will be expected to hand these notes in with your Literature Critique assignment.
