The K-12 aim of the Saskatchewan English language arts curricula is to help students understand and appreciate language, and to use it confidently and competently in a variety of situations for learning, communication, work, life, and personal satisfaction.The poems, stories, essays, plays and novels that will be studied are works of literature which students can relate to their own lives and will focus on two themes: The Search for Self and The Social Experience
